Medtronic Ordered to Pay $23.5M in Patent Infringement Case

May 18, 2017 –– On May 16, 2017, District Judge Ron Clark ordered Defendant Medtronic, Inc. to pay $23.5 million to Plaintiff Mark A. Barry after losing an infringement case over his spine-aligning device patents.  The patents-at-issue are U.S. Patent Nos. 7,670,358 and 8,361,121, entitled, “System and Method for Aligning Vertebrae in the Amelioration of Aberrant Spinal Column Deviation Conditions.”  The case is captioned Barry v. Medtronic, Inc., 1-14-cv-00104.
